View from the top level of the King Victor Emmanuel II monument at Piazza Venezia.  From left to right are a bank building, the domed church Santa Maria di Loreto (built AD 1575), and the domed Chiesa Santissimo Nome di Maria al Foro Traiano (Church of the Most Holy Name of Mary at the Forum of Trajan) (built AD 1736).

In September 2010, we took a vacation to several locales in Europe.  Our last and longest stop was in Rome.  These pages have a few of the pictures I took there.  Everything in Rome has such a history that to describe the pictures fully would take a very large book.  I've put only some brief comments in the captions.  If you're further interested, I'd recommend going to a website like  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page and use their search engine.  Another good resource for religious subjects is http://www.sacred-destinations.com/italy/rome .

Below are the links to my pages.
